What is a Dual Fuel Oven?
A dual fuel oven lets you cook with both wood and gas, either together or separately. With HPC's Forno de Pizza ovens, you can easily start the wood fire by placing the wood on the gas burner and igniting it, combining the best of both worlds.
What is a Refractory Oven?
A refractory oven is built with materials that can handle super high temperatures, like fire bricks. HPC Fire's Forno de Pizza ovens use a special refractory formula that withstands up to 2400°F.
Are All Dual Fuel Ovens the Same?
Not really. Many dual fuel ovens require a separate process to start the wood fire, but HPC’s ovens let you start the wood fire right on the gas burner.
Why Does the Forno de Pizza Cost More Than Ovens?
Forno de Pizza ovens, handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, blend centuries-old design with modern appliance technology. They are constructed using premium 11 GA 304 stainless steel made in the USA, ensuring durability and longevity. Unlike mass-produced ovens, each Forno de Pizza oven is unique, reflecting the artisan craftsmanship that goes into its creation. This dedication to quality and authenticity naturally comes at a premium.
While other ovens may be compared to buses, Forno de Pizza ovens are akin to sports cars: fast, efficient, and portable. Their superior design allows them to reach high temperatures quickly, using less fuel than bulkier alternatives. For those who value quality, performance, and the art of wood-fired cooking, a Forno de Pizza oven is an investment that pays dividends in both flavor and functionality.
What is Electronic Ignition?
Electronic ignition is a safe and easy way to light your gas appliances. HPC's Forno de Pizza uses a 3-volt battery pack for portable ovens and a 3V to 110V adapter for built-in models. It only lets gas flow if the pilot is lit, ensuring safe use.
Why is the Oven One Size?
The single size is designed for versatility, efficient heating, and ease of use. Larger ovens take longer to heat, use more fuel to maintain temperature, and take up more space. Forno, on the other hand, is a residential/light commercial oven that occupies less space, uses less fuel and has a secondary source of controlled heat for easy operation. It is small enough to fit through a 36-inch garage side door, or to incorporate in small spaces such as an upper deck, but does not limit your cooking options unlike most smaller ovens.

Why Doesn’t the Oven Have a Chimney?
The oven has a special vent at the opening that feeds oxygen to the fire and directs smoke upwards. This design helps retain heat and makes the oven easy to move around.
Can I Use Just Wood or Just Gas?
Absolutely! You can use either wood or gas on their own. But using both fuels together heats the oven faster, which many people prefer.
How do I get the oven started? Turn on the pilot on the burner. If using wood, place smaller pieces on the burner. Turn the gas control knob “on” and let the wood ignite for about 10 minutes. Move the hot coals to the middle of the oven and add more wood on top of the coals; wait about 20 minutes. Next, move the wood coals and the ash to the back with the oven brush, and get to baking.

Can I Use the Oven in Freezing Temperatures?
Yes, gradually heat the oven with gas before adding wood to avoid thermal shock to the refractory material.
Does the Oven Require a Door?
