Homeowners who invested in Bromic Platinum or Tungsten Electric heaters gain the same commercial-grade control used by hospitality properties worldwide. Create heating schedules that warm your outdoor living space before you arrive home, or adjust temperatures from inside when the evening cools down unexpectedly.
How to Choose the Right Dimmer Controller
Most buyers make this mistake: They choose channels based on how many heaters they have. That's backwards. The number you actually need comes from one question: How many separate groups do you want to control?
Here's the truth about channels: Each channel can control multiple heaters (up to 6000W per channel). But once your electrician wires heaters to a channel, those heaters always act together. You can't split them later without rewiring.
The Rule That Prevents Buyer's Remorse
Channels = Independent Control Groups
Ask yourself: "Do I want these heaters to always act together, or separately?" That answer determines your channel count. One group that always operates together = one channel. Three groups you want to control separately = three channels.
You can always group channels together later in the app. You can never split them after wiring. When in doubt, choose more channels.
Real-World Examples (Right vs. Wrong)
Scenario 1: Restaurant Patio with 4 Heaters
Wrong choice: "I have 4 heaters, they're all under 6000W total, so I'll get a 1-channel controller."
Result: All 4 heaters always turn on together. Cannot dim the bar area differently from dining tables. Cannot turn off one section when it's empty.
Better choice: "I want my dining area separate from my bar area. That's 2 groups."
Result: Get a 2-channel controller. Wire dining heaters to Channel 1, bar heaters to Channel 2. Now you can run the bar at 70% while dining stays at 50%, or turn off one area entirely when not in use.
Scenario 2: Poolside with 2 Heaters
Common mistake: "Two heaters means I need a 1-channel controller."
Reality check: Do those heaters cover the same seating area, or different zones? If they're on opposite sides of the pool, you might want separate control.
Safe choice: Get a 2-channel controller even for 2 heaters if there's any chance you'll want independent control. The cost difference is minimal, but rewiring later is expensive.
What About Zones?
You'll see "zones" mentioned in the app features. Zones are not channels. Here's the difference:
- Channels — Determined by your electrician's wiring. Permanent hardware limitation. Channels decide what can be controlled separately.
- Zones — Created in the app. Software grouping feature. Zones let you control multiple channels with one tap. Can be changed anytime.
Example: You have a 5-channel controller covering different patio areas. You create a Zone called "Dinner Service" that controls Channels 1, 2, and 4 together with one tap. Later, you create a Zone called "Bar Hours" that controls Channels 3 and 5. Zones make managing many channels easier - they don't create new control capability.
Quick Decision Guide
Choose 1-Channel if: All your heaters will always operate as one group, always at the same temperature, always on or off together.
Choose 2-Channel if: You want two independently controlled areas (dining + bar, front + back, pool + lounge, etc.).
Choose 5-Channel if: You're managing a large commercial space with multiple distinct areas that need independent temperature control. Requires 3-phase power - consult with your electrician about availability.
Still unsure? Count the areas where you might want different temperatures or on/off control. That number equals your channel requirement.

Why a Smart Dimmer Controller Changes Everything
- Stop wasting energy on full-blast heating — Dial in exactly the warmth needed so you only use the power your guests actually need
- Extend equipment lifespan — Running heaters at lower outputs reduces wear on heating elements, so your investment lasts longer
- Eliminate constant staff adjustments — Set schedules that automatically adapt throughout the day, freeing your team to focus on guests
- Create zone-specific comfort — Run your bar area at 70% while the dining patio stays at 50%, matching each space perfectly
- Track usage patterns — App analytics show which zones get used most, helping you optimize heater placement for future installations
- Troubleshoot remotely — Check heater status from anywhere instead of sending staff to investigate, saving time when issues arise
