Contact us today and we'll get you started. Most Heat Plans are ready within 2-3 business days.

We make understanding these products simple. Bromic builds excellent heating equipment, but their technical specs don't always translate clearly to real-world use. We've rewritten everything to be clear & simple: "Which configuration works for my covered patio?" "How many do I need for 1,200 square feet?" "Can I zone five heaters independently?"

We sell the complete outdoor amenity package. Heating is one piece of creating profitable outdoor space—we also carry shade structures, furniture, and fire features. One source means coordinated aesthetics and someone who understands how it all works together.

And of course, you get genuine Bromic products with full manufacturer warranty, plus our Price Beat Promise: found it cheaper after purchase? We'll beat that price by 2%. You're protected even after you buy.

Which Eclipse Controller Do You Need?

Eclipse Portable owners: Your heater already includes a remote control for basic operation. However, this external Affinity controller is compatible with Eclipse Portable if you want app-based control, scheduling automation, zone creation with other heaters, or integration with building management systems—features the included remote doesn't provide.

Eclipse Pendant owners: You need an external controller. Here's how to choose:

1 Channel Controller (BH8380051)

Controls ONE Eclipse Pendant heater with independent heat and light adjustment.

You need this if: You have one Eclipse Pendant heater and want app control, scheduling, and remote access. Simple as that.

Example: Homeowner with one Eclipse over their patio, or a boutique hotel with a single heater in their courtyard.

5 Channel Controller (BH8380055)

Controls up to FIVE Eclipse Pendant heaters independently—each heater gets its own channel with separate heat and light settings.

You need this if: You have 2-5 Eclipse Pendant heaters in different areas that need independent control. Maybe your bar area needs to be warmer than your dining patio, or your pool deck heaters should turn on later than your main seating area.

Example: Restaurant with heaters in multiple zones, or luxury residence with Eclipse heaters over the pool, patio, and outdoor kitchen that each need different settings.

Decision guide: Count your Eclipse Pendant heaters. That's how many channels you need. Have three heaters? You need at least 3 channels (so the 5 Channel controller, using 3 of its 5 available channels).

Important: Eclipse heaters are always controlled one-per-channel because each unit is an integrated heat and light fixture requiring dedicated control. If you have three Eclipse Pendant heaters, you need either three 1 Channel controllers or one controller with at least 3 channels.

Understanding Voltage Options

The 1 Channel controller runs on standard 220-240V (like most residential circuits in many countries). The 5 Channel controller offers multiple voltage configurations because commercial buildings use different electrical systems—some run 3-phase power, some use higher voltages for efficiency. Think of it like plumbing: residential homes typically have one water pressure standard, but commercial buildings might have different systems depending on size and needs.

Critical: Voltage and phase configuration must match your building's electrical supply exactly and be confirmed by a licensed electrician before purchase. Your electrician will identify which voltage configuration matches your property's electrical system during installation. The controller must match your building's power supply—this isn't a preference, it's a technical requirement for safe operation.

Who Benefits Most from Eclipse Smart Controllers

Commercial Hospitality Properties

Hotels, restaurants, and bars with multiple Eclipse heaters benefit from zone management that lets staff control entire sections simultaneously. Schedule automation ensures heaters are ready for morning service and shut down after close, preventing wasted energy from heaters left running overnight. Multi-user access means managers can grant controlled access to staff while maintaining admin oversight of all settings.

Luxury Residential Installations

Homeowners with Eclipse heaters gain resort-level control over their outdoor spaces. Adjust heat and lighting from inside the house when weather changes during a gathering, or set schedules that automatically warm your patio 30 minutes before dinner. The sophisticated app interface replaces wall switches with the same professional control system used by commercial properties.

How the Affinity Eclipse System Delivers Professional-Grade Control

Unlike basic on/off controllers, the Affinity Eclipse Series manages both the infrared heating elements and integrated LED light rails in your Eclipse heaters through a single interface. Here's how the system components work together:

  • WiFi-enabled controller boxes — Connect to your 2.4GHz network and communicate with the Bromic Heating App for remote access
  • Channel-based architecture — Each channel controls one Eclipse heater's full heat and light functions independently
  • App platform with cloud features — Enables multi-device syncing and remote access while maintaining local network control options
  • Bluetooth backup connection — Maintains local control within 30ft even without WiFi during initial setup or network outages
  • Optional Ethernet connectivity — Integrates with building management systems for commercial properties requiring hardwired connections

This architecture means you're not limited to simple timer switches—you're operating a complete climate and lighting management system designed for professional environments.

Everything You Can Control

  • 1% incremental heat control — Fine-tune warmth precisely so guests stay comfortable without overheating or wasting energy on excessive output
  • Independent LED dimming — Adjust ambiance lighting separately from heat for warm patios with soft mood lighting or bright task lighting
  • Multi-zone management — Create separate zones for bar, dining, and lounge areas so each space maintains different comfort levels simultaneously
  • Automated scheduling — Program heaters to warm up 30 minutes before service so spaces are ready without staff remembering to turn them on
  • Timer off intervals — Set automatic shutoff after specified hours so heaters never run all night because closing staff forgot to check
  • Remote access capability — Control heaters from anywhere with internet so you can shut down forgotten units from home or adjust settings remotely
  • Multi-user management — Grant access to managers and staff with different permission levels so everyone operates heaters but only admins change settings
  • Multi-site operation — Manage controllers across multiple properties from one app account which means corporate offices control heating systems at every location
  • Voice control integration — Use Alexa or Google Home commands for hands-free operation so staff can adjust heaters while carrying trays
  • 4-hour safety cutoff — Controllers automatically shut down after preset duration as a fail-safe against accidental all-day operation

Frequently Asked Questions About Eclipse Controllers

What Eclipse heaters work with these controllers?
The Affinity Eclipse controllers are designed specifically for the Eclipse Electric heater series (both Pendant and Portable models). The 1 Channel controller works with Eclipse Portable (dimmer already included) and Eclipse Pendant. The 5 Channel controller works only with Eclipse Pendant heaters for multi-unit installations.
Can I control more than one heater with one channel?
No, each channel is designed to control a single Eclipse Pendant heater. If you have three Eclipse Pendants that need independent control, you'll need a controller with three channels (for example, one 5 Channel controller using three of its five available channels).
What's the difference between controller channels and app zones?
Channels are hardware-based—each physical channel controls one heater. App zones are software groupings that let you control multiple channels together for convenience. For example, channels 1, 2, and 3 might each control separate heaters, but you can create an app zone called "Patio" that adjusts all three simultaneously.
Do I need professional installation?
Yes, Eclipse controllers must be installed and configured by a licensed electrical contractor. The controllers handle significant electrical loads (up to 6kW per channel) and require proper wiring, circuit protection, and mounting according to local electrical codes. Once installed, the app setup is straightforward.
Can I control heaters without WiFi?
Yes, controllers work via Bluetooth within 30ft for local control without internet connectivity. However, remote access, multi-site management, and cloud-based features like schedules require WiFi or Ethernet connection. You can also install manual switches as an alternative to app-based control.
How many users can access one controller?
Multiple users can access controllers when connected via WiFi or Ethernet. The admin user invites additional users and assigns permissions—either full admin control or limited user access. This works well for commercial properties where multiple staff members need heater access but only managers should change settings.
Can I group multiple heaters into zones?
Yes, the app lets you create unlimited zones grouping any connected heaters together. For example, create zones for "Bar Area," "Dining Patio," and "Pool Deck" to control each section independently or together. Each zone can have different schedules, timers, and automation rules.
What happens if I forget to turn heaters off?
Controllers include a safety cutoff timer that automatically shuts down heaters after a preset duration (default 4 hours, adjustable by admin). You can also turn heaters off remotely through the app from anywhere with internet access, so you're not locked out if you're already home.
Will this work with my building management system?
Controllers can integrate with common home automation and building management systems through the optional accessory board using 0-10V control. Once connected to a BMS, that system takes over control and the Bromic app is disabled. Contact Bromic technical support for specific BMS compatibility questions.
Can I manage heaters at multiple locations?
Yes, one app account can control unlimited controllers across multiple sites as long as each controller is connected via WiFi or Ethernet. This allows corporate management or multi-property owners to oversee heating systems at every location from a single interface.
Where do I find the controller serial number?
The serial number is a 14-digit code (format: CONF2C23080005) printed on the product label attached to the controller housing. You can also locate it through the Bromic Heating App under Site Configuration > Edit Site, where all connected controllers are listed with their serial numbers.
Does the 5 Channel controller need a key to open?
Yes, the 5 Channel controller requires a bi-locker key to access the internal components. The key is supplied with the controller packed inside the enclosure in a plastic bag. Additional bi-locker keys are available from general electrical supply stores if needed.
