It gets a lot hotter than we anticipated. Honestly, we didn't even factor the heat output into our decision, it was mostly about the aesthetics and the weight. We bought three of these for our patio. Way easier than the crank umbrellas we had before. Staff can control them from inside which is convenient during service.
Solar works great in summer but we've needed the AC adapter a few times in winter when it's cloudy. The auto-close is nice but it did close once during wind when we would've left it open. Not a huge deal.
