Common Questions About the Birmingham Fire & Dining Table
Q: How long does a propane tank last?
A: A standard 20 lb propane tank runs 8-10 hours on medium setting and 6-8 hours on high. Most commercial properties go through one tank per week during shoulder season.
Q: Can staff operate this safely without special training?
A: Yes. The push-button ignition lights in seconds, and the electronic safety shut-off automatically cuts gas if the flame goes out. One 30-second demonstration is typically sufficient for staff training.
Q: Does the concrete crack in freezing temperatures?
A: The glass-fiber reinforced concrete construction handles freeze-thaw cycles. Minor surface hairline cracks are normal in cast concrete and don't affect structural integrity. The included canvas cover provides additional protection during winter storage.
Q: What's the effective heating radius?
A: The 45,000 BTU output maintains comfortable warmth (approximately 70Β°F) in a 12-foot radius when outdoor temperatures are around 50Β°F. Wind conditions affect this range.
Q: Can this be used as just a dining table without the fire feature?
A: Yes. The burner sits below table surface level, so you can use it as a standard dining table with the fire off. The center opening accommodates a standard patio umbrella if needed.

What's Covered
Elementi warranties protect against defects in parts and workmanship under normal use. If a covered defect occurs during the warranty period, Elementi will repair or replace the affected product at their discretion.
Important: Replacement parts are provided at no charge, but return shipping to your original place of purchase is the customer's responsibility. Freight, removal, and reinstallation costs are not covered.
Critical Installation Requirement
All gas lines must be installed by a licensed gas fitter. This is non-negotiable - improper gas installation voids the warranty entirely and creates serious safety risks.
What's Not Covered
This warranty doesn't cover:
- Shipping damage - Inspect your delivery carefully and note any damage immediately
- Normal wear and weathering - Fading, dings, dents, scratches from regular outdoor use
- Decorative rock - Lava rock and other decorative media aren't covered
- Improper installation or modifications - Any repairs or changes not performed by Elementi
- Abuse or misuse - Damage from accidents, neglect, or use beyond normal parameters
- Minor surface imperfections - Small chips, non-structural hairline cracks, water staining
- Consequential damages - Liability is limited to the original purchase price
Understanding Handcrafted Concrete (GFRC)
Elementi fire features use glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), which is hand-cast and hand-finished. This means every piece is unique - and certain characteristics are normal, not defects:
Color Variation: Each unit may vary up to 15% in color from display photos or between pieces. This is inherent to the casting process.
Texture Differences: Uneven texture or pattern across the surface is typical of hand-finished concrete.
Surface Characteristics: Small holes or pits caused by air or water bubbles during casting are normal traits of cast concrete.
Natural Weathering: Over time, outdoor exposure will cause gradual color changes and patina development. This is expected and not covered under warranty.
Think of these characteristics like natural stone - the variations are part of what makes each piece authentic, not mass-produced.
