The Orion V2 Traditional is the latest version of Modern Flames' most recognized traditional fireplace. The V2 upgrade rewrites what the previous generation could do: next-generation LCD displays replace the older screen technology, producing flame imagery with richer color, sharper contrast, and deeper blacks. The adaptive brightness system reads the ambient light in the room and adjusts the display output automatically — which means the flame looks as convincing at noon as it does at midnight.

The Modern Flames + app handles everything: flame style, color, speed, ember bed color, downlighting, heater settings, and a programmable weekly schedule. Over-the-air updates push new flame content to the fireplace after it's installed, so it's not a static product — it keeps receiving improvements. Custom-engineered Bluetooth speakers are built into the unit. Three crackling fire sound options are included, or connect your own playlist. The Technology Behind the Flame

Every Orion V2 runs on a next-generation LCD display — not LED light effects, not a mirrored flame illusion. High-definition video-based flame footage plays behind a realistic internally lit log set and active ember bed, viewed through tempered glass. The result is what Modern Flames calls Heliovision® flame technology: multi-dimensional flame imagery that reads the same from any viewing angle, at any distance. The V2 generation adds adaptive brightness, which the original never had — the display automatically calibrates to room lighting conditions rather than running at a fixed output. Three flame styles (Hybrid, Wood, Gas) and six flame colors (Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Purple, White) combine into 18 distinct displays, each adjustable in speed.
