The Spectrum Slimline 50 recesses into a framed 2x4 wall, so you get a built in fireplace look without building the wall out. Its 5/8 inch trim lets your tile or wood finish right up to the opening, and there's still room for a TV above it.

The Full Picture

Picture tile running right up to a long band of flames. The Spectrum Slimline 50 is 4 5/8" deep overall and 49 3/4" wide by 17" high, with the flames filling a 46" by 12" viewing area.

Recessed, it goes into a framed opening 48 7/8" wide, 16 1/4" high and at least 4" deep. If you'd rather not open the wall, you hang it on the wall bracket and add the side skirts.

Who It's For

Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hotel rooms and rental units that have the wall space for a fireplace but not the depth. Homeowners get a 50 inch electric fireplace in a standard stud wall, and a property owner can plug it in or have an electrician hardwire it. It is rated for indoor use only and gives supplemental heat.

How the Hybrid-FX Flames Work

The Hybrid-FX flames come from high intensity LEDs shining through layered optics, with no video screen inside, so you get adjustable color instead of recorded fire. You shape the look with three controls:

  • Flame colors: 10 colors plus a fade mode that cycles through them, with memory.
  • Ember bed colors: 10 colors or a fade mode, set separately from the flames.
  • Speed and brightness: 3 flame speeds, with 5 brightness levels each for flames and ember bed.

What You Get From a 50 Inch Slimline Fireplace

  • Two heat settings: Low draws 733 W and high draws 1465 W, with the thermostat readout on the panel.
  • Timer up to 8 hours: Pick anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours and the fireplace shuts itself off.
  • Low energy LED: The flame effect runs on what Modern Flames calls low energy LED technology.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run the flames without the heat?
Yes. The flames run with the heater off, and the heater only works while the flames are on.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Modern Flames lists it for installation beneath a TV. Keep 11.8" of clearance above the glass front to a mantel or ceiling.
Does it have Wi-Fi or an app?
No. You control it from the 6 button touch panel or the remote.
Do I plug it in or hardwire it?
Either. It plugs into a dedicated 15 A grounded outlet with the 72" cord. Fully recessed, a qualified electrician removes the cord and hardwires it.
