The Full Picture

Put the Modern Flames Redstone 36 in the Fireplace You Already Have

Slide the Redstone 36 into your old fireplace and plug it into an outlet your electrician installs inside. The firebox that sat empty is now a fireplace you light from the couch. It's held in place by gravity and friction, so you don't need screws.

Behind the glass, Hybrid-FX flames stand tall in a vertical viewing area, and the glowing driftwood logs and crystal ember bed light up too. Pick a color for the flames, the ember bed and the downlight from the remote.

In a new wall framed for it, the Redstone installs as a built in unit, hardwired by an electrician, and can go beneath a TV.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician?
Yes, for the power. A built in unit gets hardwired by a qualified electrician, and an insert plugs into an outlet that an electrician installs inside your existing fireplace. Both need a dedicated 15 amp breaker.
Will it fit my existing fireplace?
It's designed to fit most existing wood burning fireplaces. So measure your opening against the RS-3626 body, which is 32-3/8" wide, 23-5/8" high and 9-1/4" deep behind the trim. A surround trim kit, sold separately, covers the gap around the unit.
Can I run it without the heat?
Yes. With the heater off the flames keep running, so you can use it in July. The heater only works while the flame is on.
How much heat does it put out?
It's a 5,000 BTU heater with low and high settings, meant as supplemental heat for a zone up to 500 square feet, not a primary heat source. And keep furniture, pillows and curtains at least 3 feet from the front.
How does it compare to the Orion V2 36" Traditional?
The Orion V2 36" Traditional LCD Electric Fireplace is the step up, with screens that show video quality flames, crackling sound and app control. But the Redstone has LED flames in ten colors with a remote and no sound or app, at roughly half the price.
